We have been advised by the shipping lines in the trade between Australia to PNG, Solomon Islands, New Caledonia, Vanuatu and Kiribati, that due to the continued increase in the world fuel price, the Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF) surcharge will further be increased from AUD 646.03 per TEU to AUD 703.51 per TEU.
As a result the BAF surcharge on our LCL freight rates will increase from 21% to 23% and for FCL cargo, the new BAF surcharge as detailed above will apply.
This increased surcharge will take effect from the first port of loading for the following ships:
Aotearoa Chief v0084N
Kiribati Chief v0086N
Lihir Chief v0049N
Or the 5th August 2006. Whichever eventuates first.
The BAF surcharge is regularly reviewed between the Peak Shippers Association and the shipping lines and should there be any further changes, we will notify you as soon as possible.
We sincerely appreciate the support you give to us and we look forward to continuing to
service your ocean transportation needs
